I have  2 years’ experience in applications of remote sensing technology in agriculture and conservation. I have a bachelor degree in Environmental Planning and Management from Kenyatta University, Kenya. I did a course in GIS and Remotes sensing in the second year of my bachelors studies and this captured my interest in earth observation field. I became more passionate in this field when I joined the International Center of Insect Physiology and Ecology as an Intern. While there I had a chance to work on projects in Crop health status monitoring , pest surveillance, species distribution modelling and landscape ecology. I got inspired while working with scientists doing research on insects and wanted to understand how earth observation can be used to understand how different climatic variations can influence the emergence of crop pests and diseases.
